River Plate Introduces Innovative LED Screens

The Monumental Stadium of River Plate unveils an impressive ring of LED screens that will run around its four middle stands, with the intention of generating more revenue through advertisements and the projection of images. This ring is composed of 610 high-definition LED modules, with a resolution of 48,800 x 90 pixels and a brightness of 6,500 nits.

On the other hand, the installation of these LED screens has not been well received by some River fans, as it poses a problem for those who usually hang their flags on the edge of the stands. About 72 flags had to be relocated after negotiations with the club.

The technology used by River Plate is inspired by European stadiums, and it is expected that in the future the same system will be installed in the lower area of the upper sections, thus creating a double-line sensation. The ring of LED screens measures 488 meters in width and 90 centimeters in height.

In the words of the club's management, this modernization aims to enhance the financial resources of the institution as well as to offer viewers a modern and attractive visual experience. However, some supporters of the team express their discontent, arguing that these initiatives go against the traditional and cultural atmosphere of Argentine stadiums, bringing them closer to the European style.
